General Information

ATG14 binds to the core PtdIns3K complex (PIK3C3-PIK3R4-BECN1) and helps regulate membrane extension from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) during phagophore formation (PMID: 27046250). It regulates the phosphorylation of beclin-1 (PMID: 23878393), interacts with phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate and then targets the PtdIns3K complex to autophagosome formation site (PMID: 21518905).
