Interactors with alphafold structures
GABARAPL2, also known as GATE16, is a vital member of the GABARAP family, contributing significantly to autophagy by facilitating the clearance of vacuolar pathogens (PMID: 28604719). Functioning similarly to other GABARAP subfamily proteins, GABARAPL2 operates during the later stages of autophagosome formation (PMID: 20418806). Like LC3B, the N-terminal region of GABARAPL2 exhibits membrane tethering and fusion capabilities through hydrophobic interactions (PMID: 21497758). GABARAPL2 is a recently evolved protein in the GABARAP subfamily and is involved in xenophagy (PMID: 27601442).
