Interactors with alphafold structures
LC3B, a member of the LC3 family, is a key regulator of the autophagy process. It undergoes lipidation to phosphatidylethanolamine, which is critical for the expansion and formation of autophagosome (PMID: 27418283). LC3 binds to several adaptor proteins via the consensus sequence called LIR motif (LC3 interacting motif) (PMID: 18524774). This interaction is essential for cargo recruitment to autophagosome and their degradation. LC3B is involved in both macroautophagy and selective autophagy. LC3B is widely utilized as a marker for monitoring autophagy in cellular studies (PMID: 11060023).
